For school classes and young people
“A Journey Through Space and Time”
Guided tour with workshop
During a tour of the exhibition, those works are discussed that the children or young people have previously selected themselves using objects or terms. In the discussion in front of the works, they then take a journey back in time to the place depicted.
In the subsequent workshop, participants develop their own visions of living spaces—playfully and experimentally. What does the city of the future look like when children and young people design it? With which inventions would they change cities?
The starting point is stylised silhouettes of London and Venice, over which more and more sheets of tracing paper are placed and drawn on. With each additional sheet of tracing paper, the participants’ own idea comes more strongly to the fore—the original image literally recedes. Sheet by sheet, a multi-layered montage is created, which is compiled with a clip rail. The creation of the montage can be followed by flipping through it. Alternatively, a new image can be created by changing the order.
